 JACKIE LIND WORKSHOP

Children enjoyed the workshop with award winning casting director Jackie Lind.

CAC EVENTS

The event was such a success.

So many children enjoyed the limo ride,

the people waiting to see them and then to

watch themselves on the big screen was magic.

WOW!  That was a very powerful workshop!  Dez had such a great time.

I found Jackie so inspiring.  Full of life.  I felt that I myself wanted to take acting classes  after that.  Your students did such as great because you are a great and inspring teacher.  You are so supportive with your students.  Giving Dez that extra time last week really helped him.  You are proud of your students and they are proud to have you as a teacher.  You and Daryl are great and all your supporting friends that help out.  Keep up the great work.  When Jackie returns for another workshop count Dez in.  Even though the challenges that happened still it was a great workshop.  Jackie tired I am sure and sick with a cold just jumped right in and took contol of her workshop with such great energy and inspiration.  Wow!

Take care

Have a great evening.

Your friends Crystalrose and Dez

We all had a blast!!!

What an amazing day!  It was so exciting and each of those wonderful
students will never, ever forget this afternoon.  What an incredible
gift that you gave them.  All the energy, time and money spent on the
event is so worth it.  You must feel so elated and walking on air.
I told Gerald all about it and I got excited all over again.  Thank
you for letting me be a part of such a spectacular moment in your life.

Love and hugs forever,
Adriana

Thank you so much for all the work and planning you put into the Gala 2009.
The Park theatre was a fantastic venue to view the kids work.  Kaitlyn was
beaming from ear to ear.  From the ride in the Limo, having to dress fancy
and all the special treatment she was given.  It will go in her memory book
as one of her best days, ever!

Lea & Kaitlyn Clarke

Yes we imagined it would turn out beautifully and regret that we were unable
to attend. Sam has really bloosomed in your class and it has been a terrific
experience for her. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication
throughout the year.
We look forward to watching the DVD

Claudine

Being that this was my son's first year at the acting center, we had absolutely no idea how this was going to work. My son has always said that he wants to act so we thought "why not?". He enjoyed every minute of the year and was so eager to go back the next week. When the red carpet event came along, I saw a totally different kid! He had this "air" about himself, he was so proud of his accomplishment and it was all because he got to share it with his friends and family on the big screen. The event itself was so well put together and so organized. Lois, and everyone she had helping her thought of EVERYTHING!! Every aspect of the afternoon contributed to the total effect! The red carpet, the limo, the popcorn, the display of headshots, all of it! It was wonderful  Thanks so much for helping make my son so proud of himself!!!

Thanks

Shab Ferozdin

CAC FIELD TRIPS

PAST FIELD TRIPS

CAC schedules different field trips within the film industry and invites guests to class to offer the students hands on experiences.

In the past, CAC has visited a voice production studio.  It gave the students the opportunity to work with different voices for cartoons, commercials and other voice work. Students became familiar with what happens in the studio. All students received a copy of their voice work to keep as a demo.

In December 2007, CAC students were able to attend a workshop at Canada's Canine Academy.  The Academy specializes in training animals for film.

The director of the Academy, Dawn Piche introduce different dogs and cats that have already worked on different movies/tv series such as "The Big White", "Air Buddies", "Falcon Beach".

The children worked with these animals in different obstacle courses.  The students raced the animals.  Who do you think won, the animals or the students?

Dawn taught them how she gets the animals to do the job they need to accomplish on set.  Example:  The cat needs to walk through the kitchen and jump up on the counter and head straight for the phone.  Animals also have to get acquainted with the actors in short periods of time.  Dawn had a trick that trained the animals to respond not to her, but the actor they are working with.

The students really enjoyed seeing the animals skateboard!  That was a definate highlight to the workshop.

It was alot of fun and we thank Dawn at the Academy for having us!
